What They Say About John’s Classes And Workshops
Just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful seminar last night. I was so charged up and energized that I stayed up till 3:00 a.m. writing an article. I really appreciate everything you do, and I’ll refer people your way all year ’round! You always teach me something new about myself and the biz. I am grateful for that. You never cease to amaze me.

You are the best John. THANK YOU for speaking to my group. You, your book and your spirit is what it’s all about. It’s folks like you that keep me in this racket. I’m proud to know you and call you friend. Thanks again,
Phil Swann (Phil is a hit songwriter and a great teacher, JB)
John Braheny saved the day @ our meeting last night, & I wanted to say THANKS to all of you that helped get it all connected after the unfortunate circumstances that occurred between Sunday night & our meeting on Wednesday. As you saw on our posts & on our website, Michael Lederer was scheduled to be our guest speaker along with Mark Keefner from Waymo Music. Late Sunday night, Michael apologetically called me to let me know there was a family emergency in Texas & had to leave immediately, however Mark would probably still come. Monday morning, I called Mark to confirm, only to find out HE had a medical emergency hjmself & would be unable to attend. Putting the word out to all of our affiliated TAXI friends & others, a replacement was not to be found, however, everyone offered to help & called on our behalf. John received calls from several of these friends, & immediately offered his assistance! Being involved with TAXI BEFORE it officially existed, John was able to provide even more background on the company than we expected, & being part of the advisory board, John was also able to provide insight on how TAXI continues to improve their processes to provide even greater access to the industry. John Braheny is proof that integrity in this industry truly does exist, taking a couple of hours out of his valuable time to come & speak to our lil’ songwriting family on such short notice. We also had a great critique night, with a wide variety of genres presented, from pop to punk & all grooves in between.

My name is Justin and I had the great pleasure if seeing you speak last week at West LA music. I am excited to tell you that I incorporated so much of your knowledge into my new song, Rock Candy and it is one of my favorites yet!! SO thank you.

Thanks again for presenting your informative and entertaining (and free) seminar last night at West L.A. Music. I first saw you a couple of years ago when you hosted a Western Beat night at Highland Grounds. That inspiring night of music played a big part in my decision to take seriously songs and songwriting. Since that night, I have read and gained great insights from both your book and your JB Newsletters. The information you’ve provided has contributed directly to my improving songwriting skills. Thanks a million.
Please keep up the great work.

I just wanted to thank you for all of the things you taught me for the short time I was in your song writing class at the SLSI camp. Your encouragement and feedback on my song (Feel Me Fall Apart) really helped me make some decisions about what I want to do in this industry. I just really appreciate your effort in going to the camp, and teaching. I will definitely be sending you more of my work for your critique and feedback. Thank you again!

Hello, My name is Jaime Abraham and I was in your songwriting class at the speech level singing camp. I really enjoyed your class, and I just wanted to thank you. I find myself listening to music in a different way, and I feel more confident in my writing now. Some of the other classes seemed a little discouraging, but I felt very inspired by yours. Thanks for getting us excited about what we love. I look forward to digging into your book. Thanks again, Jaime

Sorry that it took me so long to give feedback on last Saturday’s class at the Songwriter’s Guild. The class was the most valuable songwriters class that I’ve attended so far. I sent an e-mail to Samm Brown thanking him for referring me to the class and I mentioned that I believe you’re a walking songwriters’ encyclopedia. Not only was the information extremely valuable, but you shared it with us in such a generous and honest manner – it was quite obvious that you want us attendees to succeed in the music business. The workshop helped me identify where I am as a songwriter and I’ve finally been able to better determine what steps I need to take. Thank you for compiling your knowledge of songwriting in your book “The Craft and Business of Songwriting”. I haven’t finished reading the book yet, but it’s definitely one that I won’t stop reading – until the next edition.Tell JoAnn that I said “Hello” and “Thank You”. During our lunch break on Saturday I had the opportunity to speak to her and in the midst of our conversation about our former jobs outside of songwriting she said something that really touched me. She mentioned “…but you’ll always be a songwriter…” and that really inspired me. I posted those words on my wall, and I now have no choice but to act on it. Give her a hug for me! There was definitely a reason for me to attend your class. Thanks again John

I wanted to thank you for your presentation in Santa Fe!! The Studi’s invited me, and I am glad they did! Your book is insightful, concise, informative and not without humor! You inspire those of us for whom inspiration is second nature! No small deed!!

I just had to drop a line and say hi. I was in your songwriting class last summer at the Seth Riggs vocal camp in L.A. I am currently in my last semester at BYU in Provo, Utah and I am taking a songwriting class from Ron Simpson who is an aquaintance of yours. We are actually using your book as one of our text books and it is great! Ron has great things to say about you and it’s fun to make that kind of connection between the two. I really enjoyed your class last summer and suggestions that you gave me personally
with my songwriting. It was a very informative and exciting class. Thank you for you wisdom and input! You are a great person!
